Troubleshooting
Experience issues with your EDGE 4 Solar Attachment? Run through the troubleshooting below for most issues.
Not Charging via Cord
- Ensure you are using an adequate USB-C cable (minimum 2A / 18W rating).
- Try a different wall outlet and a different USB-C cable.
- Ensure the cable is fully seated in both the solar panel port and the charging block.
- Charge for at least 4–14 hours, or until the LED indicator turns solid green.
Not Charging via Sun
- Confirm the panel is positioned in direct, unobstructed sunlight — shade significantly reduces output on a compact panel.
- Angle the panel toward the sun where possible (south-facing is ideal).
- Note: the solar panel is designed as supplemental power. In heavily shaded areas or during winter months, periodic cord charging is recommended.
Not Powering Camera
- Confirm the solar panel is securely attached to the camera and the USB-C cable is fully seated at both ends.
- Check the camera's battery status in the Moultrie Mobile app to confirm solar input is recognized.
- If the camera still does not power on, test with fresh AA batteries to confirm the camera is functioning.
No Power from Panel
- Press the "Check Battery" button on the panel and observe the LED indicator.
- If no lights come on, charge the panel fully via cord for 4–14 hours.
- If the LED shows red, charge via cord before redeploying.
- If the LED shows normally, check the cable and camera connections.
- Try a different USB-C cable and charging block.
- Try a different wall outlet.
