How To Set Up
Follow the steps below to connect your 3.8W Solar Power Pack to your trail camera.
- Position the solar panel in a location that receives several hours of direct sunlight per day, ideally south-facing.
- Connect the included USB-C cable to the output port on the solar panel.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to the USB-C port on your compatible trail camera.
- Secure the panel using the adjustable mounting strap or a separately purchased mounting arm.
- Keep the panel free of obstructions — even partial shade significantly reduces output on a compact panel.
- Angle the panel toward the sun for maximum output.
- Confirm the camera recognizes the solar input by checking the battery/power indicator in the Moultrie Mobile app.
LED Indicator Guide
Press the Check Battery button on the panel to view battery status:
- Green (solid): Fully charged or charging normally
- Green (flashing): Actively charging via sunlight
- Red: Low battery — charge via USB-C cord
- No light: Battery fully depleted — charge via cord for at least 4 hours
Charging Tips
- The 3.8W Solar Power Pack is designed for supplemental solar charging. In low-light or overcast conditions, cord charging is recommended.
- Use a USB-C cable rated at minimum 2A / 18W when charging via cord.
- Allow a full charge cycle (4–14 hours) before first use.
- Monitor battery status periodically through the Moultrie Mobile app.
