Mounting Guidelines

Proper mounting is essential for optimal detection, image quality, and solar charging on your EDGE 4 PRO SOLAR. Follow the guidance below for best results.

Height

Mount the camera 3 to 4 feet off the ground, aimed slightly downward toward the anticipated path of travel.

Distance

Position the camera approximately 25 feet from the area you want to monitor. This distance balances detection range with image quality.

Direction

Face the camera North or South when possible. Avoid pointing the camera East or West, as the rising and setting sun can cause false triggers and overexposed images.

Solar Panel Orientation

The integrated solar panel works best when it has a clear view of the sky. Mount the camera in a location that allows the solar panel to receive direct or indirect sunlight during daylight hours. Avoid deep shade, dense canopy, or areas where the panel will be blocked by nearby objects.

Clear the Field of View

Remove any branches, tall grass, or vegetation from in front of the camera. Nearby movement from vegetation is a common cause of false triggers.

Using Live Aim

Your EDGE 4 PRO SOLAR includes Live Aim via Bluetooth with the Easy Aim Mount. Use the Moultrie app within Bluetooth range to see a real-time view of your camera's field of view as you adjust the angle no guessing required.

Use the Included Strap and Easy Aim Mount

An adjustable strap and Easy Aim Mount are included in the box. Use them to securely fasten the camera and fine-tune the angle without tools.
