EDGE 4: No Power

Camera won't turn on? Work through the steps below in order — most no-power issues are battery-related and resolve quickly.

 

Step 1 Use Fresh Batteries

Install one of Moultrie's Rechargeable Battery Packs to save. Or insert a brand-new full set of 8-16 AA batteries. Do not mix old and new cells or different brands.

Recommended:  Moultrie's Rechargeable Battery Packs to save. Moultrie or Energizer Alkaline or Lithium AA. Make sure all 8 are on the same side of the tray

Step 2: Inspect the Battery Tray

Remove the tray and check the metal contact points (top and bottom of the tray). Look for:

  • Corrosion- whitish or greenish residue. Clean with a dry cloth or pencil eraser.
  • Physical damage- bent or broken contacts.
  • Debris- dirt or moisture in the tray compartment.

Step 3  Power Reset

  1. Turn the camera off.
  2. Remove the battery tray.
  3. Hold the power switch to On for 5 seconds, then back to Off.
  4. Re-insert the tray with fresh batteries and power On.

If It Still Won't Power On Contact Us

  • Photos of all sides of the camera, including the top and bottom of the battery tray (contact points clearly visible).
  • A short video showing: inserting a fresh set of batteries, then the full power-on attempt (including any lights or no lights).
  • Your physical shipping address.
