Get connected, pick the right plan, and make the most of every hunt.

Before your camera can send photos to the Moultrie app, it needs to be activated in your account. This links your device to a subscription plan so it can connect to the cellular network. If you’re returning for a new season, reactivation gets you back up and running just as quickly.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following ready:

• The Moultrie app is downloaded, and an account created.
• Your camera’s ID or serial number (found on the box or camera label)
• Fully charged Moultrie rechargeable battery pack or new AA batteries

Step 1: Choose Your Plan

You’ll select a subscription during activation, so it helps to know your options ahead of time. See the full plan breakdown in the Choosing Your Plan section below, but the short answer for most hunters is: go Unlimited. No image cap means no mid-season surprises, and it includes Hunt Planning Plus at no extra cost.

Step 2: Activate Your Device in the App or Website

Activation is done through your Moultrie account, not on the camera itself. Choose whichever method is easiest for you:

Via the Mobile App

• Open the Moultrie app and log in to your account.
• Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top left corner.
• Select Manage Account, then Manage Subscriptions.
• Tap Activate Device and follow the on-screen prompts to select your plan.

Via the Website

• Log in at moultrie.com or the Moultrie web portal.
• Click the Manage Account button in the account menu (top right).
• Select Manage Subscriptions.
• Click Activate Device and follow the prompts to choose your plan and complete activation.

Step 3: Set Up Your Camera

Once activation is complete in the app or website, finish the physical setup:

• Install your batteries. Most Edge-series cameras use either a Moultrie Rechargeable Battery Pack or 8–16 AA alkaline or lithium batteries. Check your specific model’s guide if unsure.

📶 Signal tip:

Your personal cell carrier doesn’t matter; your camera connects to its own network. Avoid low-lying areas and dense vegetation for the best connection.

Step 4: Power On & Confirm Connection

Switch your camera to the ON position. Here’s what to expect:

Once all lights go off, your camera is ready to take and transmit photos.

📷 Test it:

Press and release the connect button on the front of the camera to manually trigger a photo upload, then refresh your app or the website to confirm the photo came through.

Reactivating a Camera for a New Season

If you cancelled your plan during the off-season and are ready to get back in the field, reactivating is simple. Your camera will already be in your account; you just need to restart its subscription.

How to Reactivate

Via the Mobile App

1. Open the app and tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top left.
2. Select your profile icon (your initials) from the side panel.
3. Tap Manage Subscriptions, then select Cancelled Subscriptions.
4. Find the camera you want to reactivate and select it.
5. Follow the reactivation flow to choose a plan and complete the process.

Via the Website

1. Log in and go to Manage Account > Manage Subscriptions.
2. Select Cancelled Device Subscriptions.
3. Choose the device you want to reactivate.
4. Complete the reactivation plan flow.

✅ After reactivating:

Head back to Steps 3 and 4 above, install fresh batteries, power the camera on, and confirm it connects.

How HP+ Works with Your Camera Subscription

HP+ is most powerful when your cameras are on Unlimited/Pro Series. Here’s why: Game Plan generates its deer-movement forecast using your actual local camera uploads. The more images your camera sends without a cap throttling upload, the richer and more accurate your forecast becomes. Getting Started With HP+

HP+ is automatically available in your Moultrie app once your Unlimited plan is active. No separate activation is required.

• Game Plan: Tap the More icon > Game Plan. Set your location and view your hourly forecast.
• Wind Conditions: Go to Maps, pin your stands, and set the ideal wind direction for each.
• Deer Survey: Available from your camera’s image gallery once enough tagged images are collected.
• Property Lines: Open Maps and enable the property boundary layer from the layer selector.
