Hunt Planning Plus (HP+) unlocks advanced planning tools in the Moultrie app to visualize deer movement, set ideal wind at each stand, and plan smarter hunts.

The Moultrie app is free to download. The left column below is a list of features included in the app. HP+ unlocks the features in the right column.

Note on Included features
Camera Sharing, Image Imports, Photo Activity Patterning, and Basic Map Layers are included for all users. You do not need HP+ to use them. They appear here because HP+ subscribers have access to them as part of the full app experience.
Hunt Planning Plus Features
Property Lines & Owner Info
See exactly where your property ends and your neighbors begin directly on your Moultrie map. Property Lines overlay parcel boundaries and landowner information so you can plan your hunt, entry routes, and stand placement with confidence.
What can you do with it:
- Confirm property boundaries before heading out
- Identify neighboring parcels and ownership without leaving the app
- Plan routes that stay within your land
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open Maps in the app
- Tap the layers icon
- Toggle Property Lines on

Parcel data comes from publicly available records and may not reflect the most recent ownership changes.
Deer Activity on Maps (Hunt Strategy)
Hunt Strategy puts your camera data on the map so you can see where deer have been and where they're likely to be. It has two modes you can toggle between:
Recent Activity- See where deer have already been. Filter by target type (e.g., Buck, Doe), time range, and time of day. Map pins update to show the photo count at each camera. Tap any pin to jump to its filtered gallery.
Hunt Prediction- Look ahead using forecasted weather, wind, and Game Plan data. Map pins show whether conditions will favor a hunt at each location.
Pro tip: Start in Recent Activity to find your hottest cameras, then switch to Hunt Prediction to find the best upcoming time to be there.
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open Maps in the app
- Tap Tools in the bottom right of your screen
- Select Hunt Strategy
- Toggle between Recent Activity and Hunt Prediction
Buck to Doe Ratios (Deer Survey)
Deer Survey uses your trail camera photos to estimate your herd's size and composition. Run a survey for 14 or 30 days and get a data-backed picture of what's on your property.
What you'll see when the survey is complete:
- Buck to doe ratio
- Fawn recruitment rate
- Estimated doe and fawn population
- Additional herd characteristics
To sharpen the results, you can enter the number of unique bucks your cameras identified. The app shows your buck photos side-by-side to make it easier to tell individuals apart.
HOW TO ACCESS
- In the gallery, in the bottom right, tap “…More.”
- Select Deer Survey
- Name your survey and choose a start date
- Select a 14-day or 30-day duration
- Confirm your cameras are pinned on the map and create a Map View when prompted
- Review results after the survey period ends
Requirement
Your cameras must be pinned on the map before you start. You’ll also be prompted to create a Map View during setup.
Available in the app only, not on the Moultrie website.
Ideal Wind Forecasting
Tell the app which wind direction works for each of your stands, and it will show you briefly whether upcoming conditions will set you up for success.
Once your ideal wind is set for a pin, map pins inside Hunt Strategy (Hunt Prediction mode) display a status immediately.
Setting ideal wind for each stand removes the need to cross-reference a separate weather app and helps you prioritize where to hunt on any given day.
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open Maps and tap one of our stand pins (Note: if you do not have your stand pinned, you will need to do so before accessing the wind forecasting)
- Select the wind icon to set your ideal wind direction
- Switch to Hunt Prediction in Hunt Strategy to see how upcoming conditions match
Note
Ideal Wind can only be set on stand pins. Not all pin types support the wind direction feature.
Free Features- Available to All Users
These features don’t require HP+. They’re available to every Moultrie app user at no charge.
Camera Sharing
Invite friends or family to view your gallery without giving them access to your full account. Guests see your photos, nothing else.
- Requires at least one camera on any active plan (Standard, Unlimited, or Pro Series)
- Guests only need a free Moultrie account; no camera or subscription is required on their end
- No limit on the number of guests you can invite
- Both you and your guest can end the sharing relationship at any time
- App is not available on the Moultrie website
- Requires app version 4.13.3 or later
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open your Profile menu
- Tap Camera Sharing
- Toggle between Guests (people you’ve invited) and Shared with Me (galleries others have shared with you)
- Tap Add Guest to send an invite
Import Images to Gallery
Upload trail camera photos from any brand directly into your Moultrie gallery. Imported images are processed just like Moultrie camera uploads, info strips, and Smart Tag AI labels are added automatically.
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open your gallery and select the import option (This is only available on web browser)
- Create a new folder or choose an existing one (you’ll be prompted to assign a map location)
- Tap Browse Files, select your images, and tap Import
- Images appear in your gallery within a few minutes
Note
Image imports are separate from your cellular camera plan’s monthly image allotment. Importing images from an SD card does not count against your plan.
Photo Activity Patterning
Turn your photo data into charts that show when and under what conditions the game is most active on your property. The more photos you have, the more useful the patterns become.
Default charts show activity by:
- Time of day
- Temperature
- Moon phase
Charts default to the last 30 days. Tap the filter icon to adjust the date range or focus on a specific camera. This feature works with imported images and shared galleries, too, no camera required.
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open the app and “…more” in the bottom right of your screen
- Select Activity
- Review the time of day, temperature, and moon phase charts
- Tap the filter icon to adjust the date range or filter by camera
Basic Map Layers
Every Moultrie user gets access to maps and satellite views, along with tools to mark your property with pins, areas, and lines. Use it to organize your stands, feeders, and access points across the season.
HP+ subscribers can layer Property Lines, Hunt Strategy, and Ideal Wind data on top of this foundation.
HOW TO ACCESS
- Open Maps in the app
- Tap the layers icon to switch between map views
- Tap anywhere on the map or use the Content button to manage pins, areas, and lines

HP+ Features Not Showing After Purchase?
Try these steps:
- Log out of the app and log back in to refresh your account
- Check that your app is updated to the latest version
- If you purchased through the App Store or Google Play, confirm the subscription is active in your device’s subscription settings. Moultrie does not manage billing for store purchases
