Troubleshooting

  1. Verify the feeder kit and hopper are set correctly within the app. Is it?
    1. No - Correct it by selecting "Devices", the desired device, "Settings", and then "Update" under "Feed Level Settings" and then jump to step 4.
    2. Yes - Continue Troubleshooting.
  2. Remove a single AA battery from the Feed Level Detector and reinsert the battery; this will assist with troubleshooting the Feed Hub Timer in the following steps.
  3. Observe the Feed Hub Indicator lights and note which, if any, LEDs are illuminated.
  4. Press the test button. How does the motor and timer behave?
    1. Spun & Connected - Troubleshooting is complete at this step.
      1. If a Feed Level Detector is paired and in range, the “FEED LEVEL DETECTOR” indicator should illuminate and will stay illuminated until the connection cycle has completed.
    2. Spun but did NOT Connect - Continue troubleshooting.
      1. The RED “NOT CONNECTED” LED should illuminate if the device does not connect. If you DO NOT see the “NOT CONNECTED” LED illuminate, the device is still attempting to connect to the network. If the Feed Level Indicator is still illuminated, the device is still attempting to connect to the network. A full connection cycle attempt may take up to 20 minutes.
    3. “FEED LEVEL DETECTOR” LED blinked rapidly but the motor did not spin
      1. If the “Connected” light illuminates, check the battery capacity in the app to see if the battery needs to be replaced.
        1. You can also measure using a multimeter. Replace battery if less than 6.0V on a 6V battery or less than 12.1V on a 12V battery.
      2. If the battery is not low check the two pin motor connector if applicable
  5. Switch the timer to "Off" and then back to "On" and observe if connection cycle begins. If “Connected” led illuminates, and the “Feed Level Detector” led turns off, troubleshooting is complete at this step.
  6. Remove an alligator clip from the battery and wait at least 5 seconds.
  7. Reconnect the alligator clip to the battery.
    1. The device should complete the connection process after the alligator clip is reconnected.
  8. Wait 5 seconds after all indicators are off then press the test button to ensure the motor spins.
    1. If your issue is resolved at this step, troubleshooting is complete.
    2. If your issue is not resolved, please reach out to support.
