Troubleshooting
The 6V Camera Power Panel is designed to supply consistent external power to compatible Moultrie feeders that operate on 6V systems. If you're experiencing power-related issues or trouble validating the panel's functionality, please follow the steps below.
Issue: Power Validation
-
Confirm Compatibility:
- This panel is only compatible with feeders or devices that use 6V power.
- It is not compatible with any equipment requiring a 12V power supply.
-
Check Battery Type:
- Do not use rechargeable AA batteries in the feeder while using this panel.
- We recommend Energizer or Moultrie-branded Alkaline AA batteries.
- If the panel becomes depleted, the feeder will fall back on the internal batteries as a backup power source.
-
Check Panel Charge Status:
- Press the battery level indicator button on the panel.
- If no lights appear, charge the panel using a USB to micro-USB cord, charging block, and a different wall outlet.
- Wait until the Charge Indicator LED turns green before reconnecting to your feeder.
- If lights do come on, continue troubleshooting.
-
Replace Internal Batteries (if needed):
- Install a fresh set of Energizer or Moultrie-branded Alkaline AA batteries into the feeder.
- Reconnect the panel and monitor for improved performance.
Issue: No Power
-
Charge the Panel Fully:
- Use a USB to micro-USB cord, charging block, and a different wall outlet than typically used.
- Charge the panel until the Charge Indicator LED turns green.
-
Reconnect and Test:
- Once fully charged, securely reconnect the panel to the feeder's power port.
- Monitor for any further power issues.
