Troubleshooting

This solar-assisted battery box provides external 12V power to compatible feeders. If your feeder is not receiving power or you are unable to confirm a connection, follow the steps below to troubleshoot.

Issue: Power Validation

  1. Check the Battery LED Indicator:
    • Blinking red = charging in progress
    • Solid red = fully charged
  2. Inspect Cable and Battery Connections:
    • Ensure the power cable is securely inserted into the feeder’s power port.
    • Confirm the positive (+) and negative (−) wires are tightly connected to the battery inside the box.
  3. Test the Feeder with a Fresh Battery:
    • Disconnect the solar battery box from the feeder.
    • Install a new, fully charged 12V battery (depending on your feeder's requirements) directly into the feeder.
    • If the feeder does not power on, the issue may lie with the feeder itself.
    • If it does power on, the issue may be with the battery box — continue troubleshooting.
  4. Charge and Reconnect the Battery Box:
    • Charge the solar battery box fully using a different wall outlet than usual.
    • Once fully charged (solid red LED), reconnect it to the feeder and retest.

Issue: No Power

  1. Charge Fully Using a Different Outlet:
    • Plug the battery box into a different wall outlet than you normally use.
    • Charge until the LED indicator turns solid red to confirm a full charge.
  2. Check Wire Connections:
    • Verify the positive and negative wires are securely connected to the internal battery.
  3. Reconnect to the Feeder:
    • Connect the battery box securely to the feeder's power input.
  4. Ensure Proper Sunlight Exposure:
    • Make sure the solar panel is placed in direct sunlight with no shade or obstructions.
