Troubleshooting
Experience issues with your 3.8W Solar Power Pack? Run through the troubleshooting below for most issues.
Not Charging via Cord
- Ensure you are using an adequate USB-C cable (minimum 2A / 18W rating).
- Try a different wall outlet and a different USB-C cable.
- Ensure the cable is fully seated in both the solar panel port and the charging block.
- Charge for at least 4–14 hours, or until the LED indicator turns solid green.
Not Charging via Sun
- Confirm the panel is positioned in direct, unobstructed sunlight.
- Angle the panel toward the sun (south-facing where possible). Flat mounting significantly reduces output on a compact panel.
- Note: the 3.8W panel is compact and designed as supplemental power. In heavily shaded areas or winter months, periodic cord charging is recommended.
Not Powering Camera
- Confirm the USB-C cable is fully seated at both the panel and the camera.
- Check that the camera's battery status in the Moultrie Mobile app shows a connected solar source.
- If the camera still does not power on, test with fresh AA batteries to confirm the camera itself is functioning.
No Power from Panel
- Press the "Check Battery" button and observe the LED indicator.
- If no lights come on, charge fully via cord for 4–14 hours.
- If the LED shows red, charge via cord before redeploying.
- If the LED shows normally, check the cable and camera connections.
- Try a different USB-C cable and charging block.
- Try a different wall outlet.
