Troubleshooting
Battery charge getting low quickly? Rapid drain is usually caused by high-draw settings, weak signal, or insufficient solar charging. Follow the steps below to improve battery life.
Step 1 Verify Solar Charging
Your camera's integrated solar panel provides continuous trickle charging when outdoors in sunlight. For best results:
Position the camera so the solar panel faces the sky with minimal shading.
Avoid mounting in deep shade or under dense canopy.
Ensure the solar panel surface is clean and free of debris.
Step 2: Charge via USB-C
If the battery is significantly depleted, charge the PG-2284 rechargeable pack fully via USB-C using a wall outlet before reinstalling.
Step 3: Apply the Battery-Saver Profile (exact settings)
Mode: Photo (not Video)
Upload Frequency: 24-hour
On-Demand (if available): Disabled
Detection Delay: 5 minutes or longer
Sensitivity: Medium
Note: Setting changes may take effect after the camera's next check-in.
Step 4: Monitor & report (24–48 hours)
Leave the camera in place and avoid other changes during the test window. Please send us:
Start % (right after applying the profile)
End % after 24 hours and again at 48 hours
Solar exposure conditions (open sky vs. shade)
What to expect / next steps
If battery life stabilizes with these steps, you can keep the Battery-Saver Profile or adjust gradually for your needs.
