Improperly installing the feed funnel on your Moultrie Feeder can cause all the feed to pour out of the feeder, or it can clog it completely. Below is short video that will help explain how the feed funnel works. Also included are some examples of our various feeder kits and proper ways to install them.
Before troubleshooting you will need to identify what feeder kit you have. Feeder kits manufactured after 2019 come with an adjustable funnel built into the kit itself. No funnel installation is required.

- If using the Quick-Lock motor kit with an older model Break Down Hopper as shown above, simply put the feed funnel through the Adapter Ring (image #2 above) before bolting the adapter to the bottom of the hopper. The QL Adapter is included with the QL Kits.
- If using a traditional bolt-on feeder kit (non-Quick-Lock), the funnel will go inside the hopper.
- If you are using a feeder kit purchased after 2019 then it will have a a built-in adjustable funnel as shown above. A Metal funnel is not required.
- There should only be 1/4" to 5/8" gap between the feed funnel and spin plate. Too much space and the feed can fall out, too little space can cause clogging.
