Having trouble getting power? Continue scrolling to see why your Moultrie Feeder Kit isn't powering on, or the timer display is distorted, or watch our short video below.
1. Make sure you are using a good 6-volt / 5-amp battery, such as Energizer or Moultrie batteries. Please be aware that most commercial 6-volt batteries have less than 5 amps and can cause issues with your power.
2. The Wildlife Directional Feeder and Ranch Series Feeder kits use a 12-volt / 7-amp battery and its timer needs to be switched to 12-volts. All other Moultrie Kits require a 6-volt / 5-amp battery, except for the All-In-One kit which requires 4 AA batteries.
3. If the battery is rechargeable, make sure the battery is a 6-volt / 5-amp battery and is fully charged and working properly.
4. Check your battery. Just because it is new does not mean that it is a good, fully-charged battery. Always completely charge a new rechargeable battery before you use it as the charge can sometimes dissipate over time in storage or on a shelf. Always check the charge on a non-rechargeable battery before using it.
5. Attempt a reset by pressing and holding the reset button located on the backside of your timer for 10 seconds. It is located on the front side of your timer if you have the option to program days into your timer.
6. If using a solar panel, ensure that the battery is connected to the feeder and charged before you plug in or clip on the solar unit.
7. Ensure the spin plate is securely on the shaft and you are using the proper dry feed.
8. Cold weather will impact your batteries and can cause them to lose power or freeze.
