Q: What is Feed On Demand?
A: Feed On Demand is a feature that allows you to remotely run your feeder from the Moultrie app outside of your scheduled feed times. This is great for running the feeder before you get to your hunting camp, when you're in your stand, or feeding on non-scheduled times. Please note, triggering Feed On Demand will note updated the feed level.
Q: Why would I want to use Feed On Demand?
A: You can Feed On Demand any time you want to run the feeder outside of your scheduled times. For example, you can run the feeder on your way to the property, or from your hunt stand.
Q: How do I use Feed On Demand:
A: Follow the instructions below:
1. Tap Devices, then tap your Feed Hub device.
2. Tap Feed On Demand to open the feature setting.
3. Toggle the On Demand feature ON, select your desired Duration and Speed, then tap Save Settings.
4. Your On Demand feature is now active, Pending Check-in.
5. When your Feed Hub connects again, shown under Feed Time Scheduler, you will be given access to the greyed-out Feed Now button to make your request.
Q: I pressed the button to Feed On Demand. How can I make sure the feeder ran successfully?
A: When viewing your Feed Hub in the app, there is a date/time shown of the last successful feed time.
Q: How fast does Feed On Demand work?
A: Your feeder will go off within 10 minutes of pressing the Feed On Demand button. Typical run times will happen within 1-5 minutes, but it can take up to 10 minutes.
Q: How do I know that the feeder ran successfully after requesting a Feed On Demand?
A: When viewing your Feed Hub in the app, it will show the date/time of the last successful run. Please ensure that you have swiped down on your screen to reload the freshest data.
Q: I see a message that the feeder didn't run when trying to Feed On Demand, what happened?
A: There could be interruptions in cellular connectivity when running Feed On Demand. The app will tell you when Feed On Demand has failed and will prompt you to try again.
Q: Feed On Demand is grayed out. Why can't I use it?
A: To use Feed On Demand, you must enable the feature first. When your Feed Hub connects again, Feed On Demand will be available.
Q: I hit the Feed On Demand button and it didn't go off, what happened?
A: Your feeder can take up to a maximum of 10 minutes to run the feeder kit after you press the button to Feed On Demand. If the feeder did not run, check the following:
- Is the Feed Level Detector or Motor battery dead?
- Does the Feed Hub have signal?
- Is it active on a subscription?
- Is there a clog or jammed notification?
Q: Do I have to be in range of my feeder to use Feed On Demand?
A: No, Feed On Demand works from anywhere, using cellular technology that's built into the Feed Hub Timer.
Q: How does Feed On Demand affect battery life?
A: Running Feed On Demand will negatively affect battery life since Feed Hub is looking for a command to run the feeder on demand when toggled on. Using Feed Hub multiple times a day will affect battery for your motor battery.
