To power your feeder using an external source such as a solar panel, follow the instructions below based on your connector type, along with best practices for mounting.

1. Connection Types
A. Barrel Jack Connector (For use with Moultrie feeder kits that have a barrel jack input for external power)
- Plugs directly into the external power port on your feeder kit.
- This port is located behind the rubber plug labelled "SOLAR". Remove the plug to connect the solar panel barrel jack.
- Ensure that the seal plug is seated all the way to prevent water from getting inside the feeder kit.
B. Tab-Top Battery or Alligator Clip Connectors
- Remove the rubber plug labelled "SOLAR PANEL" and route the solar panel connectors through the solar panel port until the plug properly seals to prevent water from getting inside the feeder kit.
- Connects directly to the positive and negative battery terminals.
- Ensure correct polarity (Red = Positive, Black = Negative).
Refer to the images below for visual examples of each connection type.

2. Mounting Best Practices
- Face solar panels south for optimal sun exposure.
- Secure the external power option to the feeder or another stable surface using the provided strap or another safe mounting method.
- If mounting to a tree or elevated location, place it high enough to avoid animal interference and away from obstructions.
- Ensure all cables and ports are securely connected and protected from the elements.
