Now that you’ve created your Moultrie Mobile account, you’re all set to connect your trail camera and field modem for game scouting 24/7. Check out the following four things you will need for your greatest viewing experience:
- Coverage
You should mount your camera and modem in an area with good AT&T or Verizon cellular coverage, depending on which carrier your modem is associated with (MV2 - Verizon, MA2 - AT&T). Don’t worry – it doesn’t matter who your personal cellphone provider is. For more information about cellular coverage click here.
However, please be aware that some roaming agreements allow carriers to use towers they don’t own to provide coverage in rural areas. In these cases, connected devices – like cellular trail cameras – are not covered. This is why your phone may have a good signal in some rural areas, but your cellular camera may not.
- Signal
Thick canopies of shrubs and trees, low-lying areas, and other natural obstructions can block the cellular signal to your modem. Keep your modem and camera out in the clear to catch your best shots, night or day. For more information about your signal click here.
- Batteries
Be sure to always use Moultrie Mobile recommended batteries for your modem and camera. The pros keep extras on hand for fast and easy replacement. For more information on Moultrie Mobile recommended batteries click here.
- Compatible Camera
